The ones we had will be withdrawned and they will buy 40 new ones that can drive on batteries. The overhead wires will be removed from the city cemter but will remain in Mustamäe tee and Sõpruse puiestee, but they need renovation and Mustamäe tee - Paldiski maantee crossroad will also be renovated and trolleybuses wouldn't been able to run there anyway.

New trolleybuses will be in bus park on Kadaka street, and with the same green color as the buses. Only thing is they have horns and they can drive with them or without them for 15-20 km.
The new trolleybuses plan has been known since february, but originally it included replacing some old ones with buses when they are too old to keep working until the new ones arrive, not that all of them will be completely replaced; and that the wires in the city center will not be instantly removed, but just not be reconstructed and later be removed in around 10 years.
The workers of Tallinn City Transport (TLT) started to take down the contact lines of the trolls, the trolls themselves disappeared from the Tallinn cityscape already last week. Kaido Padar, the chairman of the board of TLT, told Postimees that as soon as the procurement of new trolleys is prepared, a new infrastructure for the trolleys will be built. The first stage of this work is to remove the old contact lines. This work was started in time to be ready for the arrival of the new trolls.
The new trolleys should start running in Tallinn in the first half of 2026. Then the battery trolleys coming on the line can, in addition to the usual connection to the mains, also run in battery mode, which reduces the need for additional infrastructure. It is planned to remove the contact network in the city center, but the charging infrastructure suitable for the new trolleys will be built on Mustamäe road and Sõpruse puiestee.
At this point it will be much more efficient to replace trolleys with electric buses. It will be a same thing but without expensive trolley line renovation on Mustamae and Sopruse puiestee.
Overhead lines above part of the route have following benefits: 1. No need to build chargers at terminal stops. It would require chargers and also significant works in power supply system. 2. No need to waste time for charging at terminal stops. 3. Less need for autonomous drive=less batteries=less weight.
I was talking about buses with night charges. I think every shift (pretty much) will cover all mileage for a route. There is a plenty of options there like eMan, eCitaro, eUrbino etc. Since its wire connection will be on only few streets, whats the point of it? I am not against trolley or infrastructure itself, but its kinda odd for me.
