These trams were purchased in 1987 in memory of the 30th anniversary of the closure of the interurban tram line of the NZH between Amsterdam and Zandvoort.
This type of trams had never driven in Amsterdam. Apparently, the intention was only to show what it once looked like. Beautiful from far, but far from beautiful...
At least 5 vehicles were reported to have come over, 4 of them ended up in Amsterdam. 2 were scrapped and the two others ended up in a party center and a camping site. Whether they still exist (in 2020) and in what condition, I do not know.

As older members of the Amsterdam museum society would probably tell you, pictured in this photo are the times when 'enough people were still interested in this stuff' - tram history that is. In fact, the major complaint and an explanation for all the problems Amsterdam museum recently had is - 'younger people are not interested anymore...'

The date of withdrawal of this tram corresponds to the closure of the AOM depot in 2005 (Tollenstraat). The association was declared bankrupt in 2010.
In 2005 it was urgent to find space for a lot of trams.
For these and other (mainly foreign) trams there was no place or interest from other associations, from the Netherlands or other countries.
That explains why these trams either ended up on a campsite or as a restaurant, or were scrapped: there was no association that was interested in or had a place for these non-Dutch trams.
