First day of operation for SOR TNS 12 trolleybuses.

The first SOR TNS 12 type trolleybus has arrived.

The tram-train line opens for the public.
Szeged local tram line no. 1 (Szeged pályaudvar — Rókus vasútállomás) will be extended to Hódmezővásárhely via the Szeged — Hódmezővásárhely (- Békéscsaba) railway line.

First test runs of the local tram line in Hódmezővásárhely city took place with the SZKT diesel aggregator locomotive number 03. Diesel mode tests on 2nd Dec 2020, catenary tests on 3rd Dec 2020.
For the first time in 107 years, a new tram system is being established in a new city in Hungary.
In Hódmezővásárhely, the operator of the tram track infrastructure will be MÁV Zrt. (Hungarian State Railways), and the operator of the intercity trams (tram-trains) serving the city will be MÁV-START Zrt. (the railway passenger transport subsidiary of MÁV Zrt.).

Stadler Rail Valencia S.A.U won the tender of MÁV-START Zrt. for the purchase of 8 + 4 optional diesel-electric tram-train vehicles. The aim of the development implemented from the EU funds is to create a tram-train connection between Szeged and Hódmezővásárhely. MÁV-START is the railway passenger operations subdivision of MÁV Group (Hungarian State Railways), the future operator of the line.
