The Los Angeles Public Transportation Authority has decided not to purchase additional CRRC HR4000 trains.
Instead, in January 2024, 182 cars of the CRRC HR5000 model were ordered from Hyundai Rotem. The first cars will be operational before the Olympics begin in 2028, and all cars will be on the line by 2030.

Three downtown underground LRT stations have been already opened. These are Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill, Historic Broadway, Little Tokyo/Arts District stations, built under the brand of The Regional Connector Transit Project. Thus, the two previously separated LRT networks (A and E line on one hand, and the former L line on the other) are now connected. Two through-running services have been introduced:

A Line — Downtown Long Beach — APU/Citrus College, 78.1 km (48.5 miles),
E Line — Downtown Santa Monica — Atlantic, 35 km (22 miles).

Thereby, the A Line has become the world's longest tram/streetcar/LRT line (78.1 km/48.5 miles), surpassing the previous record holder of Kussttram (Coastal Tram) in Belgium (69 km).

2022 m.

The first five BYD K9M electric buses have entered service on the J Line express bus line. They are 40 feet (12 meters) long and have a range of up to 160 miles (260km). The electric buses are served by Metro`s Division 9 in El Monte and Metro`s Division 18 in Carson. Due to limited battery life, they only operate on route 910: El Monte Station — Harbour Gateway Transit Centre.

The G Line high-speed bus line has been fully switched to electric bus service. Two models of electric buses are operated on the line: the New Flyer XE60 and the BYD K11M. Both models are 60 feet (18 meters) long and have a range of up to 150 miles (240 km). Electric buses are equipped with USB charging, air conditioning, and air suspension. A total of 45 buses are operated on the line, all are stationed at Metro's Division 8 in Chatsworth. A total of $80 million was allocated for the G Line electrification project, of which $60 million was spent on the purchase of rolling stock ($1.5 million per unit), and the remaining $20 million on the retrofitting of Metro's Division 8 and the installation of chargers at the stations of "Chatsworth", "Canoga", "North Hollywood"

Линия скоростного трамая Blue Line открыта после реконструкции.
Линия получила новое обозначние A Line, вместе с этим изменена нумерация других линий скоростного трамвая и метро:
Blue Line стала A Line,
Red Line стала B Line,
Green Line стала C Line,
Purple Line стала D Line,
Expo Line стала E Line,
Gold Line стала L Line.

Таже изменили обозначения линии "скоростного автобуса" Orange Line и Silver Line, они стали G Line и J Line соответственно.

Также открыта новая станция Farmdale на перегоне между станциями Expo/Crenshaw и Expo/La Brea.

Открыт новый участок линии скоростного трамвая от Pico до La Cienega/Jefferson.
Начато движение линии скоростного трамвая Expo Line — 7th Street/Metro Center — La Cienega/Jefferson.

Линия скоростного трамвая Gold Line продлена от Union Station до Atlantic.

Изменено обозначение маршрутов метрополитена. Теперь линия Red Line, которая раньше работала по вилочной схеме с двумя ветками, обозначается на схемах как две линии:
