Открытие первой очереди длиной 7,4 км трамвайной линии Randwick Line. На обслуживающем её маршруте L2 "Circular Quay — Randwick" расположено 14 остановок. Участок Circular Quay — Town Hall длиной 2 км проложен без контактной сети, с питанием от третьего рельса. В скором времени ожидается открытие участка "Moore Park — Kingsford" длиной 4,7 км.

The first stage of Sydney Metro opened. it currently consists of a single line with 13 stations and 36 km of track.
This is a first ever metro in Australia.
