10.11.2024 501 Queen streetcars began using the new track on Adelaide between York and Victoria.
17.07.2024 The first Nova LFSe+, #6601, has been delivered. Toronto will receive 136(#6600-6735) of these long-range (~400km) electric buses. It entered revenue service on November 27, 2024.
12.07.2024 The first New Flyer XE40 Xcelsior CHARGE NG, #6000, has been delivered. Toronto will receive 204 (#6000-6203) of these long-range (~400km) electric buses. The first bus to enter revenue service on November 28, 2024 was #6012.
09.08.2023 4604, the first car of a 60 car Alstom Flexity order has been delivered. The new cars are identical to the original LFLRV order (4400-4603). All the cars are supposed to be delivered by end of 2025.
24.10.2022 One way streetcar operation to be reinstated on Adelaide Street between Spadina Avenue and York Street ahead of construction on the Ontario Line, new rapid transit project. For the time of construction Route 501 to be temporary diverted from Queen Street to Richmond Street (westbound) and to Adelaide Street (eastbound) between York Street and Church Street. Streetcar track work on Adelaide Street, west of York Street is necessary to allow for TTC route diversions in the downtown core. The remaining streetcar track work on York Street and Adelaide Street will be carried out by Metrolinx. Project completion expected in Spring 2023.
