Frankrijklei

Tunnel entrance / exit at Frankrijklei
This tunnel is used by line 10, the tunnel section is about 2700 m long with exit at Turnhoutsebaan (photo:https://transphoto.org/photo/1937467/ ).
Line 10 services the following metro stations: Opera (cross station) – Astrid (cross station) – Carnot(not in operation, no opening date planned) – Drink (not in operation, will be opened in the spring of 2026) – Zegel – Foorplein(not in operation, no opening date planned).

Belgiëlei

Tunnel entrance / exit at Belgiëlei
This tunnel is used by lines 2 and 6, the tunnel section is about 3200 m long with tunnel exit at Burgemeester Gabriël Theunisbrug.
Lines 2 and 6 services the following metro stations: Plantin – Diamant – Astrid (cross station) – Elisabeth – Handel – Schijnpoort – Sport.

Line 15 also uses this tunnel entrance / exit but follows a different route, the tunnel section is about 3500m long with exit at the left bank of the river Schelde at Blancefloerlaan (photo:https://transphoto.org/photo/1936051/ ) .
Line 15 services the following metro stations: Plantin – Diamant – Opera (cross station) – Meir – Groenplaats – Van Eeden.

Mercatorstraat

Tunnel exit at Mercatorstraat
This is the only place with a separate tunnel entrance and exit, due to the narrow street.
This tunnel is used by line 9, the tunnel section is about 3500 m long with entrance at the left bank of the river Schelde at Blancefloerlaan (photo:https://transphoto.org/photo/1936051/ ) .
Line 9 services the following metro stations: Van Eeden – Groenplaats – Meir – Opera (cross station) – Diamant – Plantin.

Herentalsebaan

Tunnel entrance / exit at Herentalsebaan
This tunnel is used by line 8, the tunnel section is about 2500 m long with end station Astrid.
Line 8 is the only line with an underground end station. West of Astrid the line uses an underground U turn to come back to the outbound platform of Astrid.
Line 8 services the following metro stations: Morckhoven(not in operation, will be opend in the summer of 2026) – College(not in operation, will probebly never be opened) – Zegel – Drink (not in operation, will be opened in the spring of 2026) – Carnot(not in operation, no opening date planned) – Astrid (cross station).

Ten Eeckhovelei

Tunnel entrance / exit at Ten Eeckhovelei.
This tunnel is used by line 5, the tunnel section is about 5000 m long with exit at the left bank of the river Schelde at Blancefloerlaan (photo https://transphoto.org/photo/1936051/).
Line 5 services the following metro stations: Schijnpoort – Handel – Elisabeth – Astrid (cross station) – Opera (cross station) – Meir – Groenplaats – Van Eeden.

The new tram bridge is in use. Unfortunately you have to be quick to photograph it in this condition, because unfortunately unwanted painters are active here too...

Tramplein

During the weekend of 11/12 January 2020, half of an imposing and historic railway bridge was demolished. The bridge will be rebuilt in the same historical style. Route 11 was therefore interrupted during that weekend. 24 hours after the shooting the works were finished and everything was cleared and only the catenary had to be reinstalled.

К/ст ¨MAS¨ (Museum aan de Stroom) трамвая №7 (Eilandje — Mortsel). Строительство линии трамвая в Eilandje и далее в Luchtbal, где соединится с линией трамвая №6, продолжается.
Бывшая к/ст "Sint-Pietersvliet" трамвая №7 в маршрутном движении больше не используется.

Wijnegem, Turnhoutsebaan

The construction of the new tram route in Wijnegem.
Exactly 50 years before, the opposite happened here: the dismantling of the tram tracks after the previous tram line was closed in 1960. Everything is coming back, or... almost everything.
