Dubai’s haphazard urban planning — a tramway elevated right-of-way has been built adjacent to the nearest street in the wide clearing that was originally designed for a highway and a metro line.
Note the metro station to the left of the tram station.

The pantograph is lowered at the end of the overhead that extends for about 250 meters passed the Depot's gate.
From this point on trams continue to operate around the system in the ground-level power supply (APS) mode.
