Rebuilt diesel commuter train corridor built by the Japanese and closed in 1988. The rebuilt MRT line opened in 1997 and included at various points trains to Zhonghe (until the orange line in 2012), Xindian, and Xinyi running concurrently until the Songshan extension in 2014 created the separate green and red lines.
